A Gift Caricature to Say “Thanks” to the Clowns

Recently, Mark did a gift caricature that crystallized why we do what we do. Yes, we love drawing gift caricatures for retirement events and birthday parties.

This one was a little different, tho…

Scott Stevens of Alexandria asked us to do a gift caricature of seven people.

One of them was his daughter, Caitlin.

The rest were clowns.

Here’s what he told us:

“My daughter spent 2 years in and out of Johns Hopkins Hospital. At the hospital, the Big Apple circus sends clowns to entertain and cheer-up the kids, several times a week. They are so good at what they do that even on her worst day, they could put a smile on her face. I want to thank them for this and am seeking the artwork to honor the work they do.”

He added that Caitlin often had her Hello Kitty plushy with her and she loved the Jonas Brothers.

Here are a few of the photos – of Caitlin and the clowns – that Scott provided us for reference.

Thank you, Scott. It was our honor and pleasure to help say “thanks” to the clowns.
